Ferrying to Okracoke Island
Today was an easy but long day. We only biked 45 miles aided by an incredible tail wind but we spent much of the day on ferry crossings. It was relaxing on the ferries but I hated not using the wind to cover larger chunks of miles. Many riders used the crossings to catch a nap.
I think many of my teammates aren’t sleeping well because of my snoring. You always hate to be THAT person on a ride. I’ve tried blaming it on the other old guys but the team consensus it that it’s me. I just hope I’m not murdered in my sleep.
Lauren is our youngest rider. She an architect in New York and she is an extremely fast cyclist.
I haven’t been to the Outer Banks in 35 years and I really don’t know what to expect as we make our way to Nags Head and Kitty Hawk. I know it will be busier than Hatteras. Tonight we‘re staying in a Catholic Church annex In Buxton. It‘s crowded but nice. Tomorrow we have a 66 mile day to Nags Head and I hope we continue to have that great tail wind.
