Virginia is for Lovers

Maybe I should rephrase that, “I Love Virginia!” After a very peaceful night at the state campground, we had a 6 mile ride to the ferry that would take us across the James River. Once across the river we got onto the Capital to Capital Trail. This beautiful paved trail starts in Jamestown and traverses 60 miles to the state Capital, Richmond. There was a severe threat of rain and damaging wind so we road pretty quickly. We had a few sprinkles of rain while rolling along this marvelous trail, but no storms. There was a large charity bike ride taking place on the trail and the byway was crowded with cyclist going in the opposite direction as us. It was neat seeing all of the different colorful bike jerseys flying by.

Once the trail ended in the heart of Richmond we made our way along the busy streets to Lakeside United Methodist Church where Pastor Mark had dinner waiting for us. We have now hit the halfway mark of our journey, 1,100 miles. We also have a day of rest, yeah!
